Nice UV work 
! Good choice for your first UV too. Before you go for the really complex meshes, and attempt to UV map them, -check out some of the UV programs (3D Coat, BodyPaint, UV Master from within ZBrush, Roadkill, etc. ). Amazing how much time-saving the 3rd party UV programs can do (PhotoShop CS5 might have some new features for it too? But I have not checked it out yet ).
